Your Six-Week Bridal Skincare Glow-Up Guide

Your wedding plans are set! The dress is chosen, the venue is booked and your makeup artist is ready to transform you! Now it’s time to focus on something that will elevate everything—your skin. Glowing, healthy skin helps makeup sit flawlessly and gives you confidence that radiates from the inside out. By starting six weeks ahead (at least!), your skin gets the time it needs to settle, strengthen and shine.

Why Six Weeks Makes All the Difference

Skin works in cycles and renews itself every 28-45 days depending on age, skin type etc. Six weeks gives you enough time for at least one full cycle of renewal, meaning any new routine or treatment has time to make a visible difference. With consistency, even small changes can deliver big results.

Your Morning Routine: Protect + Brighten

Mornings should set your skin up for the day ahead. Begin with a gentle exfoliating cleanse using a PHA cleanser - the Aveeno PHA Exfoliating Cleanser is a fantastic option and one of my most recommended products. PHAs help smooth and brighten the skin without irritation, leaving you fresh and glowing. Not to mention a morning cleanse is essential to wake your skin up, encourage blood circulation and lymphatic drainage - which all works towards glowing skin and makeup that will last.

Next, focus on hydration. Holos “This is More” Serum, which contains hyaluronic acid, draws moisture into the skin and helps foundation glide on smoothly. Pair this with Skingredients Vitamin C with Mushroom, an antioxidant serum that boosts brightness, reduces redness and softens pigmentation—ideal for brides who want a lit-from-within glow.

Follow with your moisturiser and finish with SPF. The Beauty of Joseon SPF is light, silky, and protective without leaving a cast, making it a brilliant final step before makeup. Remember: your morning routine is all about protection and SPF is the most important layer of all.

Your Night Routine: Repair + Nourish

Evenings are where the real transformation happens. Begin with a double cleanse to remove makeup, SPF, and impurities. Start with an oil-based cleanser—i love the Doctrine Oil Cleanser or Ella & Jo Cleansing Balm followed by a cream or gel cleanser to completely clean the skin.

This is the perfect time to introduce retinol. Retinol encourages cell turnover, smooths texture, brightens the skin and gives that fresh-faced look brides love. Apply it twice a week at first, never on consecutive nights. And always only ever at night.

Finish your routine with a moisturiser or facial oil. The Holos Anti-Ageing Facial Oil is a luxurious option that supports the skin’s overnight repair process. Oils work brilliantly for all skin types (including oily) because they soften the skin, seal in hydration and balance natural oil production. They can be used alone, under moisturiser, or over it for an intensive overnight treatment.

Weekly Boosters: Extra Glow When You Need It

Weekly treatments give your routine a boost without overwhelming the skin. Storyderm sheet masks add instant hydration and radiance, making them perfect for dull or tired complexions. Consistent use helps the skin stay plump, luminous and photo-ready.

Professional Treatments to Supercharge Your Routine

If you want to take your bridal glow to the next level, consider adding a few professional treatments in the weeks leading up to the wedding. A peel is great facial for super glowing skin. Brides absolutely love the iS Clinical Fire & Ice Facial for its red-carpet finish—smooth, glowing and refined. The Juliette Armand Thavma Facial (my treatment of choice when I got married) delivers deep radiance and firmness, while a HydroFacial at Eden Beauty Group in Wicklow is fantastic for detoxyfing and hydrating the skin, especially if you’re prone to congestion or breakouts.

Plan your first treatment around three months before your wedding, then book your final glow facial or gentle peel three to five days before the big day.

How to Layer Your Skincare Correctly

If you’re ever unsure about the correct order to apply your products, the rule is simple: go from lightest to heaviest.

Your routine should look like this:

  1. Cleanser
  2. Eye Cream
  3. Serum
  4. Moisturiser
  5. SPF in the morning
  6. Facial oil at night

This helps each product absorb properly and ensures you get the most from your routine.

The Glow Secret: Consistency Is Everything

The key to beautiful bridal skin is not complexity—it’s consistency. Morning is all about protection, night is all about repair, and sticking to your routine every day is what delivers real results.

By following these steps over the next six weeks, you’ll walk into your wedding day with skin that feels healthy, balanced and naturally radiant—skin you’ll feel proud of in every photograph.

Bottom Line

Consistency is everything.

Morning = protect.

Night = repair.

Follow these steps and your bridal glow will be absolutely beautiful.
